Jobs, jobs, and more jobs

So this is something new for us. Options. I know in today's world of choices it may sound kinda weird that options are new for us but I mean specifically job options. Daddy will be graduating the first week of August and has been interviewing for jobs. While we were waiting to hear from one company he was approached by the school he is attending on two seperate occasions for two seperate jobs. Here are the three main job opportunities we are discussing and deciding on now.

The one school job is in Career Services where he would work full-time as a career counselor for the students; helping them find jobs, working with them on their resumes, and interviewing tips, etc. This would include benefits. This choice would allow him to have a better idea of what jobs are out there that we may not be thinking about.

The other school job is as a TA (teaching assistant). One of his TA's told him that he will be teaching next quarter and asked him to be his TA. Daddy loves the idea that this would allow him to continue hands on, teach, and leave him time to have his own massage therapy practice. This job is not a full-time job and doesn't include benefits but is lots more appealing as far as what he will be doing.

The third job is not at the school and wouldn't start until January or February. This job is on a cruise ship for the *Hawaiian cruise line. He would be required to do a stint on a cruise ship for at least 8 months. This means a long seperation from Mommy and Tink who would then move in with Mommy's parents and little sisters. This is the best paying job by far which would allow us to pay off our car and have a decent down payment for a house that would make our mortgage payments a lot easier on us. During this time we would have no bills for rent, food or anything but our car and insurance. Usually after 6 months of service your family is allowed to join you on a ship for a time for a discounted cruise price or so much for each day, depending on the cruise line. We aren't sure yet what the Hawaiian cruise line's policy is on that.

So at a recent managers meeting at the school Daddyand his job options were a major topic. Some of the people told him what they thought he should do. I was impressed that even though they want him to work there at the school, and some in a specific department, they are telling him what they think would actually be best for him.

So now, it is your turn. We will include a poll for you to vote on which of these job options we will choose. If we choose cruise he will most likely TA until he has to leave for Hawaii. You will have one week from this post to vote. Note that just because most people choose one option does not mean we will choose that, we are not asking you to make our decision for us, just give us your opinions.



*FYI There were a lot of people who applied for this job but only a few were hired. Those who were hired came from Daddy's school. Only three of these people were males. One of the managers at the school sounded extremely impressed that Daddy was hired because this is the first time she has ever heard of them hiring a married male before. I am so proud of him. This shows us how great he is at massage, how much he understands and can explain what he is doing and why, and how trustworthy and professional he is. I love this man so much and am so blessed to be married to him.
